"Parents would do well to protest against every attempt to produce citizens who fit in with the state and technicians who are useful in industry rather than educate creative human beings with manifold interests and independence of mind. Intellectual achievement is seen as the one ideal. But what really matters is spiritual freedom and it will be found one day that the spirit will not be suppressed by the intellect for ever. There will be a revolt against ideologies which recognize only intellectual achievement.

What we see around us in the world today is a picture of decaying civilization and culture. Pessimism at the thought of what the future may hold for us would be excusable. But let us try and remember that there is a spiritual world which can give spiritual guidance to mankind. At the moment, we may be in the trough of a wave as far as our consciousness of this spiritual world is concerned, but we are justified in hoping that we are now experiencing the birth pangs of anew age in which mankind will emerge from this trough. After all, the world is in the last analysis oriented towards a meaningful development. But human beings must pull their weight.

Those who will undertake this task must have a delicate, sensitive make-up and at the same time robust vitality in order to be able to give fully of themselves and yet come through this present time of crisis and begin to build a better world in the future. It is a further purpose of this book to serve those people".

All of us have been, at one time or another in our lives, been subjected to questions such as: When are you getting married? ­Implying we have been with our partners for a while and still haven?t tied the knot. Or: When are you having children?, which may be the last thing in our minds, be it because we have chosen to enjoy life together as a couple or because we have plainly decided that we don?t want children, for whatever the reason. And if you do choose to have a child, the next question is: When are you having your second one? And it goes on and on and on.

I found the quote below by chance and I think that it explains quite a lot. So whatever decision you have chosen to take, breathe relaxed: listen to your intuition ? there is a reason for it!

"Several years ago, columnist Ann Landers did a survey asking how many parents would have children if they could do it over again. 70% said they would not. More recent statistics indicate about 38% of parents actively participate in parent/teacher organizations and that about 30% of families involving step children stay together. This could possibly indicate that the number of adults having children, that really want to have children, is only about 30%. The other 70% who have children do so for various reasons such as: social pressure, i.e. fear of doing something wrong, or fear of their religion?s dogma if one uses contraceptives, or fear of revenge by God if one has an abortion, or fear that they aren?t good enough so they unconsciously want to heal their own childhood by having a child through which to vicariously live.

When we have children that aren?t consciously wanted and prepared for before conception, we are inflicting an emotional would that will effect generation after generation if not healed. As many healers of the inner child see it, 100% of us have been, at this point affected, either directly or indirectly, with this wound thus creating mass paranoia and insecurity. This mass, unconscious insecurity is what keep us, as a species, disconnected from fully realizing our bio-spirituality and Oneness with all other beings?.
